Cameron and I just recently completed our third half marathon, and we are now left trying to decide what races we want to sign up for this year and the years to come. As we have been browsing the internet and reading multiple blogs, we have gathered a long list of races that we could easily finish and those that might be a bit of a stretch. So we have decided to make a race bucket list for races we would like to complete at some point in our lifetime.
Our Race Bucket List
We would love to be able to run the Marine Corps Marathon one day and hopefully within the next couple of years. Ever since we began running we have always dreamed of this being the first full marathon we complete and are hoping we can accomplish this soon.
I have never been to NYC so I figure what better way to experience the sights than to run the city. Oh and the little blue Tiffany’s box being handed to you at the end of the race couldn’t hurt either! The only downfall to this race would be running it alone. Cameron and I always run our races together and I’m not sure if this is a race he would be able to run with me.
Even though we haven’t been running for long, we both agree that completing a relay race would be an amazing expereince. However, after looking over the Ragnar website we haven’t been able to settle on a dream race location. There are quite a few locations that we would be interested in running but we would have to find a team of other runners first!
We have completed one RunDisney race before, the Wine & Dine 2014 and absolutely loved it. We would love to complete both the Dopey & Goofy challenges at some point hopefully within the next couple of years. I love everything about Disney and running through the parks was an awesome experience. I would love to be able to complete more races in the future but the Dopey & Goofy challenges seem like races that would be fun to train for.
This course is beautiful and we really hope that we will get the opportunity to run it one day. If we aren’t able to complete the full we will definitely complete the half marathon.
Run a race in all 50 states
(1/50) Currently completed. We love to travel and have decided what better way to travel to the different states than to add a race to each state as well.
This would be a race for the future as we haven’t even completed our first marathon yet but the views are just too pretty to pass up. After training and completing a few marathons, Cameron and I have both agreed that we would like to train for a few Ultra’s as well. I came across the Baker Lake 50k while reading race reviews and fell in love with the trail and the views for the entire race.
Complete a Triathlon
This goal may or may not happen but it doesn’t hurt to dream right? The biggest set back I think for both Cameron and I in completing a triathlon would be the swimming section. We can both swim but I don’t think we would be able to make it a very far distance, and not to mention we aren’t even sure where we would train for something like this.
What races or goals do you currently have on your race bucket list? Have you completed any of the ones listed and have tips for other runners?
